Burst Angel (Bakuretsu Tenshi) is an anime series directed by Koichi Ohata, from a screenplay by Fumihiko Shimo created by Gonzo animation studios. It is composed of 24 episodes and an OVA titled Burst Angel Infinity.

It takes place in the near future of Tokyo where guns are not illegal anymore. Therefore, gun fights and chaos reign supreme throughout Japan. The main series is composed of a team of bounty hunters, who are Sei, Jo, Meg, Amy,Tachibana Kyohei, and Leo Jinno. The OVA focuses on Meg and Jo's past before they joined the team. The manga details the first meeting between the four group members. Much of the focus is on Jo and Meg's early bounty-hunter days, including their run-in with a bullied student and the many ways in which the pair's more-than-friends relationship is tested.

Throughout their travels in the anime series, the team has encounter mutants and mecha called Cybots. Jo has her own Cybot called Jango she can request from Sei and Amy.
